Amanda Swan Neal's 308,000 ocean miles include completing the Whitbread Around the World Race (now called the Volvo Race) as rigger aboard Maiden, the first all-women Whitbread yacht, multiple Sydney-Hobart races and 30 years involvement in international sail-training. She has worked as a rigger and sailmaker in NZ, Australia and the UK. Since joining John Neal in 1994 for Mahina Tiare's Cape Horn and Antarctic expeditions she has co-skippered all Mahina training expeditions. Amanda enjoys introducing women to the joys of the cruising lifestyle.
