Stephen Barber

Camas, Washington USA

Level 0 Crew Rank Chief Sailing Instructor / Assessor

Lifelong sailer beginning in 10’ Sea Snark, then to a Ranger 20, then onto one of my present boats, an Islander 28. Did a lot of racing in those days. Delivered both power and sail boats up the US West and East coasts for many years...East was sailboats to Bahamas, Annapolis, and Virgins and West was power boats from San Francisco to Seattle and Portland. In 2008 had a 44ft Catamaran built in France and sailed it to the Annapolis boat show then on Southward to the Bahamas, the BVI, Spanish Virgins and now home near Water Island, St Thomas, VI. I have been teaching sailing instruction for the last ten years...summers in Portland, Oregon areas and winters in the BVI , US Virgins to southern islands all the way to Grenada. I’ve enjoyed passing along my experience and sailing knowledge to over 300 students these past years. It's been very gratifying seeing many of these past students later anchored in many of the same harbors that I use today and out there with their own boats
