Andrew Finneran

Weehawken, New Jersey USA

Level V Captain Rank Qualified Sailing Instructor / Assessor

Grew up sailing and racing since I was little. During college I worked at a sail boat dealership (Beneteau, Hunter, Catalina and O'Day) selling, rigging and repairing dinghies up to 40' cruising sailboats. Delivered boats from Stamford, CT to Annapolis, MD and worked all the boats shows in between. Sailed in BVI, Cayman Islands and a passage from NYC to Bermuda. For students most of my teaching comes from racing where planning, organization and boat management are they key to a winning boat. These same skills are the basis of learning to sail and having an enjoyable day on the water. Start with the simple things and build on them.
