Level IV Bareboat Charter Master Rank Qualified Sailing Instructor / Assessor

I grew up spending my summers at the lake boating, fishing, swimming and skiing. It wasn't until I was an adult that I went sailing. I was hooked. I joined 3rd Coast Cruising so I could learn as much as I could about every aspect of sailing. I became a skipper in the club, signed up for the SLC program with NauticEd and went on to get my USCG 6-pack Captain License. I enjoy sharing what I've learned with others who want to know more about sailing.

10 out of 10 recommend taking a sail with Ted. Whether its for your SLC practical or a Sunday sail. He was professional, courteous, and a joy to sail with. I learned some things, was pushed on some things, and enjoyed the day. Ted was incredibly knowledgeable about both sailing and bareboating. Would recommended Ted to anyone needing sailing lessons/testing/bareboat, etc.

Ted is a singular example of professional and competent examiner as well as a joy to sail with. I am by most measures an experienced skipper, having owned & raced keel boats for nearly two decades and hold a US patent celestial navigation. It was a wonderful opportunity to sail with Ted Lewis and to have him as an examiner for my Practical Competency Test for Bareboat Charter Master. He is not just a good sailor, but a great instructor. He is meticulous in what was required of me and the sail was done in the most profession manner. In addition to a positive exam experience, it was a great opportunity to get his insights into sailing the Mediterranean Sea. I would highly recommend him as instructor and a sailor.
